How to Add 150g & 250g Variations to a Product
Follow these steps to configure multiple weights or sizes for your products within the WooCommerce admin area.
Step 1: Define the Weight Attributes
First, you must create the global weight options:
- 1. Navigate: Go to Products > Attributes in your sidebar.
- 2. Create Attribute: Name it Weight and click Add Attribute.
- 3. Add Terms: Click Configure terms and add 150g and 250g as individual entries.
Step 2: Enable Product Variations
Convert your product from a standard item to one with multiple options:
- Edit your Product and scroll to the Product Data box.
- Change the dropdown from "Simple product" to Variable product.
- In the Attributes tab, select "Weight", click Add, and check the box "Used for variations".
Step 3: Generate Pricing
- 1. Variations Tab: Select "Generate variations" and click Go.
- 2. Set Price: Click each variation (150g & 250g) to expand it. Enter a Regular Price for both.
- 3. Save: Click Save Changes at the bottom of the box, then Update the main product page.
Important Note: If a variation does not have a price assigned to it, it will be hidden from the customer on the front end of your website.
Missing Attributes? Ensure you clicked "Save Attributes" before moving to the Variations tab.
