Managing Your Posts: Edit or Delete

Whether you need to fix a typo or remove old content, managing your posts in WordPress is a quick and simple process.

How to Edit an Existing Post

  • 1. Locate the Post: Go to Posts > All Posts in your dashboard.
  • 2. Open the Editor: Hover your mouse over the title of the post you want to change. Click the Edit link that appears.
  • 3. Make Changes: Update your text, images, or categories as needed.
  • 4. Save: Click the blue Update button on the right-hand side to save your changes.

How to Delete a Post

If you no longer need a post, you can move it to the Trash:

  • 1. Go to Posts > All Posts.
  • 2. Hover over the post title and click the red Trash link.
  • 3. The post is now hidden from the public but stays in your "Trash" folder for 30 days before being permanently deleted.

Pro Tip: If you delete a post by mistake, click on the Trash link at the top of the Posts screen, hover over the title, and click Restore.

Keep in mind: Deleting a post that has been live for a long time can sometimes result in "404 Not Found" errors. If you are deleting a popular page, consider asking us about setting up a Redirect.
