Creating a Post with the Classic Editor

The Classic Editor provides a familiar, word-processor style interface for writing blog posts and articles quickly and efficiently.

Step 1: Start a New Post

Log in to your dashboard and navigate to Posts > Add New on the left-hand sidebar.

Step 2: Adding Content

  • 1. Title: Enter your post title in the top text field.
  • 2. Text Body: Type your content into the large main window. Use the toolbar for Bold, Italics, and bullet points.
  • 3. Add Media: Click the Add Media button to upload images or select them from your library to insert into your text.
  • 4. Formatting: Use the "Paragraph" dropdown to change text to Heading 2 or Heading 3 for better SEO structure.

Step 3: Categorise and Publish

Before hitting publish, check the right-hand sidebar:

  • Select a Category so readers can find your post.
  • Set a Featured Image (this is the main image shown on your blog list).
  • Click Publish to make your post live immediately.

Pro Tip: Use the Preview button in the Publish box to see how your post looks on the front end before it goes live to the world.
