1. DOMAIN OWNERSHIP & REGISTRATION
All domains are registered using the details provided by the Client at the time of order. The Client is responsible for ensuring that all registrant information is accurate, complete, and kept up to date.
Administrative Control & Service Arrangement:
Where a new domain is purchased and registered by RUSD LTD on behalf of the Client, RUSD LTD shall retain administrative control, management rights, and service authority over the domain during the initial registration period (typically 12 months) as part of the agreed service arrangement. During this period, the domain forms part of the service package provided by RUSD LTD.
Service-Based Control Period:
During the initial registration period, full operational control, including DNS management, registrar access, transfer permissions, nameserver configuration, and registrar-level actions, may be restricted or managed by RUSD LTD. The Client acknowledges that such management forms part of the service being provided.
Transfer of Full Ownership & Control Upon First Renewal:
Upon successful payment of the first annual domain renewal invoice following the initial registration period, and subject to all outstanding invoices being paid in full, ownership rights to the domain shall permanently transfer to the Client. From that date onward, the domain shall be considered the Client’s property and RUSD LTD shall release any administrative restrictions, granting the Client full operational control of the domain.
Ongoing Management Services:
Following transfer of ownership, RUSD LTD may continue to manage, renew, administer, and provide support for the domain at its standard management and renewal rates. Continued management by RUSD LTD does not affect or diminish the Client’s ownership rights.
Domains Transferred Into RUSD LTD:
Where a domain is transferred into RUSD LTD from another registrar, ownership of that domain remains with the Client at all times. RUSD LTD acquires no ownership interest in transferred-in domains and acts solely as the management and service provider. The 12-month ownership qualification period applies only to domains newly purchased and registered by RUSD LTD on behalf of the Client.
Early Buyout Option:
The Client may request full ownership and operational control of a newly registered domain prior to the end of the initial registration period upon payment of a £49.99 Administrative Buyout Fee per domain, in addition to any outstanding balances. Upon receipt of cleared funds, RUSD LTD will facilitate release of administrative control and transfer access where applicable, subject to registry rules.
Retention of Title (Service Rights):
Notwithstanding that a domain may be registered using the Client’s details, all service-related rights, administrative control mechanisms, and management access provided by RUSD LTD shall remain under the authority of RUSD LTD until all applicable fees and contractual obligations have been fully satisfied. RUSD LTD reserves the right to restrict or suspend management access where payment obligations are not met.
Right of First Refusal on Expiry:
Where a domain newly registered through RUSD LTD has not yet passed into Client ownership under this policy and is not renewed by the Client, RUSD LTD shall have the first right, subject to registry rules and availability, to retain, renew, acquire, or repurpose the domain for its own use or resale.
For domains that have already passed into Client ownership following the first renewal payment, this clause shall not apply and ownership rights shall remain with the Client subject to registry expiration procedures.
Payment Condition:
No transfer of full ownership, operational control, release of administrative restrictions, or domain transfer shall occur until all associated fees, including setup fees, registration fees, renewal fees, buyout fees, and any other outstanding balances, have been paid in full and cleared.
Verification:
Domain registries may require identity or email verification. Failure to complete verification may result in suspension or cancellation of the domain by the registry.
WHOIS Accuracy:
The Client must maintain accurate and current contact information where applicable.
